OK, so I have invited a bunch of friends and some have joined. Now that they are joined, How can we keep them stimulated and encourage them to network?

The best way to encourage participation is to refer not only business onwers to Voice My BIZ but also people we meet that need professional services. They can come here and search for the service they desire in the search bar in the upper right corner. After they find a BIZ partner that supplies the service they need, they can then read the testimonials from others to build their creditbility of their BIZ and then contact them. This is a BIZ lead, and I think leads is stimulating for any BIZ owner.

Can anyone add to this?

Hi Ken!

Good thinking! I have a couple suggestions:

1. Have alerts programmed to send an email to everyone in the same "category" or "business type" when a new member joins. This will remind people that they have new potential power partners online they can network with. The email template could even say that!
2. Scrolling testimonials or shout outs on the homepage - then maybe the ability to add that "testimonial RSS" to blogs and other sites out there so we can all promote eachother, virally.
3. Informational UTube videos - a new one each week or month - offer to let Chamber members provide them first, and if nobody steps up from the chamber, then we could just add a generic utube one. Providing good info for the small business owner will keep them coming back.
4. Its up to the members! Everyone needs to invite friends like you did, interact regularly, and add the badge or link to their websites and blogs. Jarrett's doing enough by just keeping this hub running! Thanks again Jarrett :)

Currently developing a business category drop down search. Then I will add what business category to the profile questions.

Latest activity can be set differently for each member and can be RSSed by anyone.

Any member can post YouTube videos on their page, or could possibly start a new group just for updated business video posts, allowing any member to join and post videos that are on subject.

Thanks and keep it coming...

Hey Jarrett!

Love the site :) You asked for feedback so here is mine - geeky as it may be...

I think it would be cool if we can use this site to optimize for the SOC Chamber businesses. Is there any way you can program it to populate unique meta tags on each user's page?

Mine is currently:

Could you program it to populate:

Doing this would REALLY help local search and our chamber members. What do you think? If it works you'll have a ton of testimonials :)

Oops, the system didn't like the code - I attached it in a .txt file here so you can see Jarrett :)

Hey Angie

Currently being a Social site which is about as dynamic as it gets the 3 major Meta tags (title, description, keyword) are templated into every new page based on what I made them. Site indexing will take place for all pages within the site and depending on the search engine crawl cycle new pages will be picked up as new members join. Each user can take advantage of being keyword heavy in their descriptions and any other text display. Also videos & photos have the ability to be tagged. The more advanced the member is and might have some scripting abilities they can use tags for extra SEO points. The main traffic will be word of mouth and at any rate would be way more successful than SEO. Then when the visitor comes to the site they can use the in site search to look for either their college of a service. And if their page looks as good as yours and as the right keywords in it then you will rank higher in the in site results. The file you posted above is empty except for a few words. Let me know if I made sense...
